I firmly live by the quote that “Fruits are nature’s candy!”, ha!

Hence, while we do not have a second thought before planning to buy chocolates or sweets when we go on a tour beyond India, I on the other hand always lookout for fresh, exotic fruits of a particular city or country wherever I go to!
And even for my day to day routine in India, I try my best to include as many fruits as possible in our meals.
Be it terms of Perfect Summer Fruit Salad, Rose Lassi, Banana Kiwi Shake or mocktail made out of fresh juices, a fiesta of fruits is something I always keep looking forward to, oh, yes!
Instead of drinking canned juices which have god knows what in them, making fresh homemade juices using natural seasonal fruits is the best.

Though summer definitely has the king of fruits coming, how could we not make the best use of tropical fruits like Pineapple?
One of my favorite ways to use ripe, pineapples is to make Homemade Fresh Pineapple Juice recipe during summer.
All made in a minute’s time through a simple mix in the grinder, this recipe takes you on a fantastic tropical ride without a doubt!
Pineapple being enriched with vitamin C and manganese, vitamin B and thiamine help a lot in the energy production of our body and hence if you do not get much time to munch on the juicy pieces of pineapples, I recommend you to make a pitcher of its Juice – you pull it off in a jiffy and reap its rewards for sure!

If you are looking for other similar options to make in Summer, here are some – Watermelon Ginger Juice, Spicy Pineapple Sauce, Strawberry Blueberry Smoothie, Mango Kale Smoothie, and Mango Pineapple Smoothie.

About this juice

Well, everyone knows the answer to this!
It is made by blending pineapple and water together to make a refreshing drink. A delicious tropical delight!

Mediavine
You can also add ice cubes instead of water if you like it cold.
I have added a little sugar to make the juice, but you can avoid it if your cutting on the sugar.
After making the juice, strain it and enjoy it.
But if you don’t mind the fiber in it, you can avoid straining it too.
You can always add in some salt and black pepper, for that extra taste.
Adding mint leaves is also a good option, it adds more refreshing taste to the same.

Health Benefits

Pineapple juice has many health benefits.
Pineapple is rich in potassium, manganese, calcium, and phosphorus.

Mediavine
It is also rich in fiber and low in calories.
It is rich in Vitamin C and by drinking one glass of it, you get 30% of your daily Vit C requirement.
It boosts the immune system and is rich in antioxidants.
Bromelain present in pineapples that can fight free radicals and cancerous cells.
Pineapple helps in digestion and improves gut health.
It improves blood circulation, lowers blood pressure, and reduces the risk of a heart attack.
You can see more details here.

Storage Suggestions

Fresh Pineapple Juice stays good in the refrigerator for almost 3 to 5 days when stored in an airtight container, but it would lose its freshness and flavor a bit.

Mediavine
That’s why I recommend you to make it fresh.
It can be frozen in any freezer-safe container for up to 4-5 months.

How to pick up the best Pineapple to juice?

The best way to pick up a ripe juicy pineapple is by smelling its base.
If it smells sweet, it’s ready to be cut and juice.
If there is no smell, then it’s not ripe yet.

Can you drink it every day?

Yes, you can drink it every day but make sure you do not overdo it.

Mediavine
Because of the presence of bromelain, it can cause rashes, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Though I would suggest you to chose different fruits for your daily juicing, as each and every fruit has a different set of nutrients and consuming variations of fruits will help you get the daily dose of all those essential vitamins and minerals.

Will it help loose weight?

Pineapple is full of fibers and makes you full very fast and hence control overeating.
Readymade juices have this fiber removed and so what is left is mostly fruit sugar.

Mediavine
But when you make the juice at home, most of the fiber is retained and you feel full after a glass of this juice.
And this prevents you from eating more which aids in weight loss.
If you want to make this juice even healthier, skip the process of straining and drink the juice with more fibers.
Pineapple juice mixed with orange juice, apple cider vinegar and honey is a sure shot weight loss remedy.
It reduces belly fat and shrinks the stomach.
You can make it unsweetened if you wish to.

Will it help constipation?

Since homemade pineapple juice is full of fibers, it is a natural laxative.
It also has an enzyme that helps in improving bowel function.

Does it help you loose weight?

Yes, the enzymes present in the Pineapple Juice will help you burn that excess fat, which makes it every effective for weight loss.

Variations

Mix it with part orange juice or cranberry juice for a tasty twist.
Add some vodka or coconut rum like Malibu to it for a tropical boozy twist.
Add blue curacao and coconut water for a funky mocktail.
Add some ginger, that also works great and gives a nice flavour to this fruity juice.
